The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) has directed its clients to recommence loading crude oil shipments from its ports located on Das and Zirku islands in the Persian Gulf. This decision comes in the wake of improved conditions following the recent agreement between the United States and Iran, which has heightened expectations for uninterrupted maritime traffic through the critical Strait of Hormuz.
According to ADNOC, crude oil cargoes have been ready for loading since April 27. The company has cautioned that any failure to collect the scheduled shipments may be considered a breach of contractual obligations. In an effort to support its buyers, ADNOC has also extended an offer to assist with its own or affiliated tanker fleets for those facing challenges in shipping.
This development is part of a broader effort by Gulf oil producers to resume normal export operations after experiencing disruptions in the region. ADNOC, a key player in the oil export market, has already successfully sold tens of millions of barrels through tenders, maintaining its status as one of the most active exporters in the Gulf region.
The United Arab Emirates is also actively working to diversify its export routes to decrease its dependency on the Strait of Hormuz. The country is fast-tracking infrastructure projects, including the expansion of pipeline capacity to the port of Fujairah on the Gulf of Oman. This strategic move aims to enable more crude exports to bypass the historically significant but vulnerable waterway, ensuring a more secure and reliable export process.
